Frenchie Puppy Health Guarantee

1 Year Health Guarantee

~ SELLER guarantees for one year from the Date of Sale that said puppy is free from any life-threatening congenital defects related to the following conditions only: Hips (severe dysplasia only, loose hips are not covered), spinal abnormalities (Most, if not all, French bulldogs have at least one hemivertebrae, if not more. This is acceptable, especially if the hemivertebrates occur in the lumbar region to achieve the roach back look. Replacements for spine issues will be discussed on a case by case basis considering the quality of life of your dog, the opinion of your vet and whether surgery is necessary. Please do not let your dog jump from high surfaces, as this can increase the chances of a ‘normal’ hemivertebrate becoming problematic.), luxating patellas rated at a grade 4, heart defects (heart murmur at grade 3 or higher), kidneys, thyroid, undescended testicles (only on pups sold with full registration for the purpose of breeding or shown) and any neurological disorders.

~ At the expense of the Buyer, this puppy should be examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours of possession to VALIDATE the Health Guarantee. A copy of the Health Exam from the Buyer’s veterinarian dated no more than 72 hours from the date of possession MUST be emailed/mailed to the SELLER immediately following the exam or the Guarantee is VOID. If a copy of the Health Exam is not received within 14 days of the date said puppy left the SELLER’S possession the Health Guarantee is VOID.

~ Should said puppy be found to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the SELLER , the puppy may, upon a written and conclusive diagnosis and a description of the puppy in question from a veterinarian, be returned to the SELLER for another puppy of equal value when one is available. Return shipping/transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer. Shipping costs/transportation for a replacement puppy are also the responsibility of the Buyer.

~ Buyer understands that a puppy is a baby and that sometimes he/she may get sick due to stress or changes in the environment. He/She is leaving our home and entering a new environment and stress-related illnesses may occur. Soft or loose stools and lack of appetite are very common during the first couple of weeks for a puppy in a new home. Once they adjust and settle these things usually resolve themselves.

~ Buyer understands that Coccidiosis and kennel cough are not covered in this contract, both of which can be common in puppies and neither are life-threatening and are easily treated. Coccidiosis is a parasite that is commonly found in the intestinal tract of dogs and cats and can present itself when the pup is under stress from changes in the environment and the immune system cannot suppress the parasites any longer. kennel cough is self-limiting (like the common cold), full recovery is expected with medication or on it’s own and is not life-threatening.

***All of our pups are raised in a clean and sterile environment with access to fresh and clean water at all times. Coccidiosis is picked up through the ingestion of feces. Some puppies like to eat it or “try” it. As much as we strive to keep their living area as clean as possible we cannot prevent them from this yucky behavior 100% of the time.

~ SELLER guarantees that any male pup sold with Full Registration, for the purpose of being bred or shown, will have two descended testicles. If said puppy purchased by the Buyer does not have two descended testicles the SELLER will offer a replacement puppy of equal value, when one is available. The Buyer must return the original puppy to the SELLER . Return shipping/transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer. Shipping costs/transportation for a replacement puppy are also the responsibility of the Buyer.

~DEMODEX – SELLER will offer a replacement, when one of equal value is available, for any pup sold with Full Registration, for the purpose of being bred, that is confirmed by a veterinarian to have Demodex. The affected pup MUST be returned to the SELLER along with the veterinary report confirming Demodex or no replacement will be offered. Return shipping/transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer. Shipping costs/transportation for a replacement puppy are also the responsibility of the Buyer.

~ There MUST BE A CONCLUSIVE DIAGNOSIS in writing from the Buyer’s veterinarian before a replacement puppy will be offered. A speculative or inconclusive diagnosis WILL NOT warrant a replacement puppy from the SELLER .

~ If the Buyer is owed a replacement they must take their replacement within 24 months from the time the replacement was warranted. After 24 months the Buyer forfeits their right to a replacement.

~ BUYER UNDERSTANDS THAT ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED TO THE SELLER FOR A REPLACEMENT PUPPY WILL BE VERIFIED! WE WILL HAVE OUR VET CONTACT YOUR VET TO DISCUSS THEIR FINDINGS.

~ Should this puppy be found to have a life-threatening congenital defect, as listed above, within one year from the date of sale, the puppy may, upon a written and conclusive diagnosis and a description of the puppy in question from a veterinarian, be returned to the SELLER for another puppy of equal value when one is available. Return shipping/transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer. Shipping costs/transportation for a replacement puppy is also the responsibility of the Buyer.

~ If the quality of life of the puppy is severely affected the SELLER asks that the puppy be humanely euthanized by a veterinarian and that a written and conclusive diagnosis and a description of the puppy along with the registration papers be returned to the Seller before a replacement puppy will be offered. Shipping costs/transportation for a replacement puppy are the responsibility of the Buyer.

~ If the quality of life of the puppy is not severely affected and the Buyer wishes to keep the puppy they may do so. If the Buyer chooses to keep the puppy the Buyer must spay/neuter the puppy and documentation of this by a veterinarian along with a written conclusive diagnosis and the registration papers must be returned to the SELLER . If the affected puppy is kept by the Buyer they will have the option to purchase another puppy with a credit of $1,000 towards another puppy of the same value.

~ In the case of sudden/unexpected death a necropsy must be performed, at the Buyer’s expense, and a written and conclusive diagnosis stating that the cause of death is related to a congenital defect as listed above must be returned along with a copy of the necropsy report and the registration papers before a replacement puppy will be offered. If the SELLER chooses not to sell said puppy all monies paid including deposit will be returned to the Buyer, UNLESS; the reason we choose to cancel the sale is due to falsified information provided by the Buyer before it leaves our possession and you will forfeit all monies paid and we will no longer do business with you.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

~ We HIGHLY recommend you feed your frenchie puppy a species-appropriate raw diet or an all-natural premium human-grade quality food.

~ We are more than happy to help you plan a species-appropriate diet for your new family member. All you have to do is let us know that is the route you want to go.

~ We strongly advise that your puppy is NOT encouraged to run up and down stairs or jump onto and off of furniture. This can cause adverse effects to the growth plates and undeveloped joints of a growing puppy and can injure their spines very easily.

~ Dysplasia can be caused by environmental factors. Meaning; through repeated trauma to undeveloped joints and growth plates in a growing puppy early onset of dysplasia can be caused as a result of injury. It is very important to prevent injury to your puppy from rough play and jumping out of vehicles and onto and off of furniture. Running downstairs is not healthy for your pups elbows, shoulders or spine, either.

~ DO NOT have your puppy retrieve toys or run on vinyl, tile, wood, or ceramic floors where their feet can slide out from under them. This can cause injury to the ligaments and joints in your puppy’s legs.

~ If you have any questions or concerns about your puppy’s development or anything else please just ask and we will be more than happy to discuss your concerns and how to best address them.
